The stub diameter on the ball joints are 19 mm
the three holes in the LCA’s and the ball joint flange are 10.9 mm
the bolts are 10 mm
So, there is a little room for the mounting bolts, I did get flange bolts and nuts.
Today, more rain!
at 10:30 the sky cleared enough for me to get out and change the ball joints, the 1 year old Moog greasable ones were loose and had a couple of rough sticking spots.
The new Delphi joints are of course brand new smooth and quiet! I just finished my 5 mile test drive! No more clunks.
I will revisit this in 3 to 6 months.
That's surprising news for the ball joints.
The Moog joints are almost twice the size of the Delphi

Silly me, it's not surprising news at all. Old age and memory.
Looking for other joints I had used in the past, I ran across a post I had made in 2011 warning that Moog joints had a very high failure rate since they had moved their production to Mexico. At the time I had switched to a company that was relatively new out of Alberta if Memory serves me correctly. Their joints were top notch, used a lot in mining and HD trucking in northern Canada.
Anyway, I found them, and they have the alum LCA complete as well. They also carry both lengths of stab links and surprisingly also a HD long link.
The website is very cumbersome, I sure the designer thinks it's very creative as in her name.
Yeats ago they showed cross sections and a lot more tech info, but they are great joints.
If my Moogs go bad, I'll get them.
Today we are going for an appointment for Sweetie, then lunch.
The Moog and the Delphi ball joints are almost identical in size, the Moog joints are just worn out, even though they have been greased every 4 to 6 k klms, I installed them July 28, 2020, 40,000 klms ago.
Im not getting anywhere with the limited lifetime warranty either. So, they’ll go into the scrap metal pile!

Don't know which you got, but the Moog rod ends were very close to twice the size as the ACDelco. Delphi is now a BorgWarner brand so not sure what you have. ACDelco remains part of GM and is still OEM
I got new rod ends mounted on the ACDelco rack and pinion and changed them since the Moog looked so much beefier and had grease zerks.
When I have to change them, I'll take comparison pics.
Maybe rod ends are larger, but ball joints seem very similar in size. I installed Delphi TC5580 ball joints and TC5530 swaybar end links.
My Moog links were K750012 and the ball joints were K80567 grease fittings in them .
1. Put LED interior lights in. Very nice, simple upgrade. Also did LED corners, license plate lights and reverse lights. I found anything more than that requires stuff like resistors or other stuff I don’t want to do.
2. Added Amazon cargo net. No more milk sliding around back there.
3. Added overlays to front and rear bowties. Think I’ll probably paint them because the overlays look kind of sketchy as far as sticking for a long time.
4. Added Amazon stainless steel exhaust tip. They sent the wrong one, wanted round but got oval, but I didn’t want to send it back. It actually looks better than I expected.
5. Addressed airbag light. Disconnected all connections, sprayed with electronics cleaner and dielectric grease. Light is out.
6. And finally, swapped out the steelies for Saab wheels I got for $100. The center caps are stickers from Amazon and just stuck over the Saab caps. The black lugs came from a great deal with a forum member. This wasn’t the route I wanted to go – I was going to go with the old school look with chrome full moons and chrome trim on mirrors and other places but I couldn’t pass up this deal, plus I saw myself putting a little too much $$$$ in what’s supposed to be my hauling car.
Thanks. They’re ok, especially for the price, but I had planned on going with an old school chrome look with chrome full moons. I like (inexpensively) personalizing my vehicles so I guess I’ll go with a black trim theme instead.
I washed the BlackSwan, we went for another doctor appointment for Sweetie, then lunch and a short drive out in the country, a visit with our farm friends, n the way home at around 9:00 pm on a stretch of dark country road a raccoon ran across the road, I braked and steered around it, missing the critter and avoiding an insurance claim. Good thing I had already changed those creaking ball joints!
