yesterday's episode.
Move on Lenin Street, is the central avenue of Ekaterinburg.
Audi pulled out from the stream, go on tram rails close to my Hippo and is moored to my left side. The rear window down and I see the widely smiling face of Mr. Demin. Demin - the chief of traffic police of the Sverdlovsk region (something like the police chief of state), a big man with big stars on their epaulettes.
I'm not used to communicate with governors, senators and generals of police. Moreover, I was surprised - the police general to do the chase in heavy traffic, to catch up with a modest Hippo.
More ..
Still smiling, Mr. Demin said: "Mr. Driver, do you think I can read your license plate?"
I answer: "The devil knows, Comrade General, I am not looked at them. And you read them?" I must say, my license plates are covered with a thick layer of mud. I'm in no hurry to clean them that the police cameras did not identify my car.
Demin neighing like a horse, then he says. "Pull over to the side. Cleaning dirt. Otherwise the police patrol will fine you at the next intersection, I warn them. Do you understand the task?"
"Certainly, sir, Be Wilco, Sir, Allow me to run, sir!"
In general, guys, I've had a few police chases. But this pursuit of the police chief - is the jewel in my collection. I'm very flattered by his attention.
Do you think that is why he ran after me? Police generals did not catch ordinary guys, even if their licenses have a 3 pounds of manure. The fact that my license, "H 025 ..", and Demin have license "H 025 .." on the official car, only the last letters are different. A cool license in Russia - a very prestigious. Demin saw a my license - the digital part as a police chief. He decided to see - who is the driver. Well, the mud - secondary, but the law is the law.

Nothing nearly as exciting as your run in with the "long arm of the law" Andrey, I just added another layer of dirt to the Paddy-Wagon in the morning rain/mist. It does look like the Hippo was rolling about in the mud, when do your roads finally dry out?

If this cold/respiratory infection thing I've caught doesn't do me in, tomorrow will see Paddy and the Fiat getting baths before the rain moves in again to give us a soggy weekend.

the snow melted early last week
the roads had dried in 3 days after that.
We have already gone through a couple of hot days - 25 degrees Celsius. Abnormally hot April. But yesterday and today temperatures usual - 10 - 12C. first leaves on the trees have started to appear.
I'm going to wash the car today. So far, only the outside. Interior - perhaps tomorrow.
