What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?

I traded in a 2004 Nissan Titan Crew Cab with 100k mi. The company I was working for required that I use my personal car and they would pay for gas no problem. All through the hiring process when the subject was brought up I reminded them that I had a Titan and it got 13 mpg no matter where I was. Again, no problem. Low and behold I was turned out in the field driving between 150 and 200 miles per day and never going more than 40 miles from my home/office. Well when I turned in close to $700 in gas receipts after the first 3 weeks they had a problem. Instead of telling them to pound sand I went and got my SS it went 60 miles further on half the gas. They told me it was too flashy. I only lasted another month there and left for other reasons.

Sold my 2001 dodge ram 1500 that got 13mpg. Picked up a silver 2007 HHR with 50,000 miles on Craigslist at a steal.

what car did you trade?

I understand your getting rid of the Dodge truck. We had an S10 ZR2 with the 31 inch tires........mostly around town we got 14 MPG.

We now get 23 MPG around town and that's a bunch better for most of what we do. (I do miss having a pick-up I must say)

I gave up a worn out 1995 Ford Explorer 4wd for my HHR. I had it sitting up a few inches and at one time had 32's under it. I was due for something new and nice.

i gave up my 1996 ford explorer with every option. 5 litre motor redid the suspension and lowered it 2 inches. had over 495,000 miles on it. motor and transmission never were rebuilt and it still ran great. the assistant sales manager at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet bought it because it ran so good. But my HHR is my all time favorite work vehicle.
