Not your call. That was a decision by one of the mods or administrators.

Could have been other circumstances like an out of line PM or such.

FYI: Toyota just announced that they are recalling 6 million vehicles around the world for air bag issues, seat rails, the bracket holding the steering column in place, and the windshield-wiper motor on various years/models.

This maybe a low frequency failure, but it is a very high consequence failure.
Think of it more like a batch of parachutes having a very, very small number of identified failures. The army is going to discard that manufacturing lot before they take even a small risk of pushing any more soldiers out of the plane with one of those chutes on his back.
I'm not stating GM is not negligent in some way. Just that the situation is overblown.

I'm basing my OPINION on everything I have read on the net and newspapers, as well as TV and radio (probably more than anyone on this forum). Acknowledging that they are NOT always correct or embellished, I still take my position which is much like another posted here. I also believe a lot of it is do to contributory negligence and driver inexperience.

I'm done....the rest is debatable and inflammatory unless new solid info becomes available.

Interesting article that covers basically everything that has been mentioned here!! But it has been done with a bit of wit, which is refreshing.

Geez, I have owned a Suzuki Samurai for 27 years and the ign switch was always too easy to turn. I spotted that when I bought it and never had anything attached to the key so that the steering wouldn't lock while 4-wheeling. I also keep the keys "light" for my other 6 vehicles so as not to place unequal pressure on the ign switch cylinder. (I'm often obsessed engineering-wise) I guess that common sense is no longer common these days.

There are some details that led to the initial Banning involving a personal attack upon a member of the site's Administration.

The initial banishment may have been reversed after an appropriate amount of time had passed, and with the unanimous consent of the Administrative staff.

But said individual attempted to join the forum again from another IP address and under another username, which in accordance with the site rules, has led to a lifetime Ban.

As a refresher, the rule that was violated states as follows....

"Banned Users – If you are banned for any period of time, do not register with another username to make a point. If you do, we will permanently deny you access to this website. Do not make “I’m back” posts after your ban is lifted. Doing so will result in another ban or permanent suspension of your account."

Don't know if this belongs here or in the lounge. Please move it if it's inappropriate. I guess it was just a matter of time. The 'ambulance chasers' have joined in. Here are just a couple of examples:

Saw some on TV as well. You know, "........if you.........GM ignition.......". Kind of sad, in a way.
