It would not be a 24 page thread, if we were not a "social media" oriented society. Or, if anybody bothered to read the VERY FIRST POST.

Did your granddad give a dam if somebody down the street got a letter? Did he think anybody would care if he got a letter?

I'm a GGDad. I don't care if anybody got their mail, and it's nobodies business if I got mine. Hrrump!

Do the keys work only in the ignition switch? And if you had electronic fobs for locking/unlocking,did they reprogram those for you? Congrats on the repair.

What would the key fobs have anything to do with replacing the ignition switch and keys??????

There are 2 recalls

I just noticed on the my.chevrolet.com website that there are 2 recalls for my 2010 HHR. Recall 2014082 dated 04/03/2014 is Ignition Switch Replacement and recall 2014133 dated 04/16/2014 is Replace Ignition Key. There is a link for each recall to a letter, but the switch recall letter only states a letter will eventually be mailed and the key recall letter is not present. For the record, the ignition lock cylinder was replaced under Program 12095 in May 2012. All I've done so far is remove everything but the key from my key ring including the fob.

Did you bother to read any of the previous 23 pages?

The keys work in the doors as well, at least the drivers side door, and I still have the original fobs that still work since they wouldn't have done anything to them.

The new keys feel really different in there. Much more resistance and a more positive feel when going to whichever position they are supposed to be in. Everything feels nice and firm and solid, like it should be. I like it.

My dealer is Alexander Chevrolet Buick GMC of Dickson in Dickson TN. They did well for me.

Your keys will work the same as when you took in. No change in remotes. ign will just feel better.
