GM Recalling 2006-2008 HHR's
Took mine in finally last Wednesday. Was in and out of there in hour total. I wandered up into the showroom to kill some time and all they had in there were Corvettes!! Counted 14 of them in there.
Kind of funny re-issue of the recall. This was added to the original recall bulletin.
On April 2, 2008 recall notification letters were mailed to all involved vehicle owners of record. However, upon further investigation, we have discovered that 382 of these vehicles are in fact equipped with roof-rail airbags (RPO ASF). Therefore, these vehicles will not experience the condition described in the bulletin and should not be included in this recall.

Had mine done today. Because of the time frame involved, I also had mine checked because it was hard to start when warm. They had to repair a connection on the bottom of the main fuse block. That took a bit more time but I got a free cup of joe, a nice wash job, and the next oil change is on the house. Now that's customer service.
I had my recall work done today. I knew I wanted to take some photos of the before, so I could see what was done. It appears that a new "ridge" was placed under the headliner over the passenger and driver's seats. I took the car in for an oil change (I took my own 5 quart container of Mobil 1) and had tire rotation. I had a $15 discount coupon from the dealer. I got out paying a whopping $4.50. and that included a $1.18 in sales tax plus $1.23 shop fee. Considering that I got the Mobil 1 from Walmart $22.88/5 quarts, the job cost me ~$27, and I didn't have to get dirty.
I checked out other HHRs on the lot. Their "great" prices added on nearly $1200 for a preparation fee, rust proofing and pinstriping ($199 for tape?) Stuff that really doesn't get done, but used as a bargaining chip when reducing prices for their cars, back to list price. I wonder why car dealers have a bad rap?

Look what the 2007 Equinox is going to get for their head protection. This was released today. Recall #07281.
