Yes both the color and the actual buttons are different from the 06 to the 07. The buttons are slightly bigger and the 07 has a deep silver color and the buttons are black. The only way i know this is because when i took my car to the dealer for the 4th time for the same problem there was a black 07 with the new buttons. They look better than the 06

Now I guess we'll have to find the part numbers when they are available for the 2007. When I find them, I'll be sure to post them here.

Deb,
I wimped out. The more I looked, the more I realized I needed help. Just had this big fear that the air bag would explode and leave me with no head. SOOOOOOO, today I took my HHR to the dealer to have the oil changed and showed the service rep the parts and your instructions. He put his radioman on it and got it done. They charged me 1/2 hour labor. I was very satisfied with that. The radioman got a large charge out of your instructions and copied them for future use. He said they were perfect. The controls work great, and I am very satisfied.

I know what you mean, everytime I take it off I wonder...will this be the time something bad happens!!

It does come off real easy though and that was a great deal for getting the dealer to install it.

Anyone know; if the following Part Numbers are still good for the 2006 LS?

I wanted this feature but I bought mine Used from a local dealer; who wants to rip me off with little add ons; $300+ for this... $500 for a spoiler... bleh.

Dealer's are ripoffs.

Would love to try to do it myself if the part numbers are still accurate for 06 models though! :)
