Not sure what you're asking for unless you are looking for the number for the harness. Have you tried searching on gmpartsdirect.com? If I'm not mistaken, I found the number for the other two parts there and the harness should be there for the 2008 as well. If not, PM me and I'll do a search for you.

If you would look back a page, maybe two you will find the number I ordered. Or you could do what I did and read the through all the pages before asking a question that has been asked at least 3 times in this thread.

Thanks for the bigger pictures. I am not used to having to link to an outside site to post them.

Based on the excellent information in this thread, I ordered the parts for the steering wheel radio control early last week from P&G Chevy. There's no indication they've shipped, and I've heard nothing from P&G. Does anyone know if the parts are available right now? It's not a big deal - it's kinda cold to be working on cars here in Minneapolis right now!

Thanks!

I had mine in under a week from my local dealer. I didn't even have to pay retail.

I got my parts from P&G yesterday. The switch and cover turned out to be the newer style, with the darker grey cover and the switch with the raised buttons. My HHR is a very early '07 with the older style - lighter color and more flush buttons. I called P&G to see about getting the older style. I gave them my VIN, and they called GM to check, and it turns out the older style is no longer available, at least from GM. The part number for the switch I got is 15942446.

I'm going to go ahead install the parts I have and see how it looks. If it looks awful, I might consider replacing the cruise control switch with the newer style so it matches, which would run about $50. We'll see how it works out.

I installed the radio controls over the weekend. I was wrong about the color of the cover. It is the same as the original. I guess the combination of being in a plastic bag and lousy lighting made it look different.

I was able to remove the old harness intact. I removed the three Torx screws and the horn mount, which improved access. The radio buttons didn't work on the first attempt. I did some more research here on this forum and found the thread about switching some of the wires in the connectors. I found I had to swap the #1 and #4 wires for the radio control, which fixed the problem. I compared the cruise control wiring with the original harness, and no changes were needed. Seems everything is working fine. The new radio buttons look a little different than the cruise buttons. I may consider replacing the cruise buttons at some point, but for now everything is fine.

Thanks to all for the great info in this Forum!

I'm still thinking of doing this mod, just nervous about getting the right color cover and swapping wires. Keep up the good work!! JR
