By definition you would be a "Contributor", but actual author credit would be reserved for the person who originated the idea and compiled the various contributor resources.

I'm pretty sure that unless you are offered a share in the "authorship" of the book, you would still be a "contributor", that's something to be discussed with the author. As a contributor you'd not be entitled to any income derived from the sales of the book, but as a contributor you should expect some form of payment up front unless you just do it as a favor.

Under copyright law, contributors have no rights of ownership in regards to the finished work, as opposed to authors who have rights of ownership and intellectual property.

Not crazy at all, actually its SOP in the world of books. Had he used your material without asking, he'd risk a lawsuit from you, and you should be credited...that's the way its done.
