I work at a parts store as well and I understand about the weird things you hear. It scares me the number of people that are going to do brakes or something on their car but They dont know what kind of car they drive.

 

was a few months this happened but, a guy came in a ( little bit of back story on my town, lots of loggers quarry truck drivers big hick town) this guy said "i need a lightbulb for my rig" i said " well sir what kinda rig ya got?" dude totally flipped a **** at me asking this question. started yellin ang cussing at me telling me i didnt kow ow to do my job and said he would go out of town to autozone like woah man chill

 

I believe he expected you to use your psychic powers or X-Ray vision to ascertain the exact make and model. Funny how some people/idiots/morons/mouth breathers, can't fathom why you don't automatically know what they drive.

 

thats true to, half the people that come in here shouldnt be ANYWHERE near a car

 

We were just talking about this kinda thing here at work...we have an internal database that we keep notes in for candidates (I work at a placement firm). We placed a guy at a job...he started said job at 8am his first day...quit at 11am stating "i can't go back in...it's too hot and it's making my teeth hurt". We've had people call in about the strangest things. One guys mother died 3 times in 6 months. People will use anything for an excuse.

 

I hear that Smooth, one of me ex-employees "killed" off his entire family in the space of six months, bummer that I knew his Dad and he didn't know I knew his Dad. I hate firing people as a rule and I've always tried to be fair, but in some cases like that guy, I had a smile on my face when I showed him the door.
