Songman may have a connection to the Viper Brake kits. But not sure if they would clear 16" steelies..

Tire rotations are done at the Dealership.. Think they would adjust those while they have it on a lift?

and the BCE 17" wheels are going back on soon.. but for me, I don't have the time to do the viper rotors to mount on the hhr..

Hard is an understatment. People have called me Earnhardt [SR] for years for a reason.

My wife is even harder on them than me in city driving.

I agree too. Pads that are not fit tight will move and create noise. The Shim helps control this but other factors on brakes can also cause this. That is why on the old pads it was important to get the tabs to hold the pad tight.

Todays pads rely on the shims and there are some compound out that will help take the vibration out so they make less or no noise.

Some system and pads just make some noise.

Also we all will see a little noise and chatter with surface rust in wet weather or after a was. The rear disc on the SS have this as most 4 wheel disc cars. They clean off in the first stop and are not a issue. Just metal and rust and nothing to worry about.

When I had the "guy" who's also a mechanic change the rotors and pads, I had him adjust the rear.. could it be that it just needs iit again?

HyperV6, did you happen to get those prices?

Hey Kev, here's a link to the Viper brake thread. I know you are planning to hold onto your 16" steelies for Winter and your 17" chromes for Summer, and I know the Viper brakes are a no go for the 16's, just something to think about.
