Help needed for quad beams

Greetings everyone. I am not an HHR owner, however I have a friend that is an owner and I am in search of some advice and direction for a particular mod.

I come from another forum, Trailvoy.com, and own a lifted 2002 GMC Envoy. On our site we have a quad beam mod, that enables the low beams to remain on when switching on the high beams. This is essentially accomplished by switching two pins in the ignition switch wiring harness. We rotate the high beam wire with the flash to pass wire and that allows the lows to always remain on.

More info can be found here: how-to article

My question, can anyone please point me in the right direction for a wiring diagram so that I can accomplish this same mod on the HHR platform? I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

MOD's, I apologize if this should be in a different sub forum.

I'm familar with the mod. But since hhrs' do not have quad lights, what's the point ?
& IIRC 2007 & later HHRs' have (DLR) Daytime Running Lights anyhow.

Im guessin since we have dual element bulbs, if both were on at the same time something would burn out or blow a fuse.

The high and low beams are on different circuits with there own relays and fuses. The bulbs might not last too long though. Better results can be had with retrofit projectors and HIDs.

Thanks folks. Now I feel like a bit of a moron. I have not seen this car yet, and wasn't aware that it was a single bulb system. The friend in question asking me to do this was a previous member of Trailvoy, and has been asking me to do the mod for her on her HHR. I just assumed it was a dual bulb system since she was asking me to do it for her.

not only would the bulb fail prematurely, I would worry about the extra heat damaging the plastic headlight housing (maybe).
