2009 HHR Ignition Repair

We received a letter (12089) from GM last year about reimbursement for charges for repair of the ignition lock cylinder. We had this problem and had our car repaired at a Pontiac dealership in 2011. We were unable to locate our receipt when we received the letter in 2012. The pontiac dealership where we had the repairs done was closed down. We were told to work with our local Chevrolet dealership as they were supposed to have the records from the Pontiac dealership. The Chevrolet dealership was not able to find the records after many requests from my husband, we finally gave up Today, when cleaning out my husband's garage he found the receipt from where we had the repairs made to the ignition in 2011 to the HHR. The letter states that the completed forms and required documents must be presented to the dealer or received by the Reimbursement Dept by June 30, 2013, unless state law specifies a longer reimbursement period. We paid over $500 to have these repairs made. Can we still submit the request for reimbursement?

Welcome to the site.

You're asking the wrong folks. Contact your local dealer or get hold of Chevrolet Customer Service. As a good will jester, hopefully GM will be nice enough to reimburse you.

to the forum!

Give Chevrolet a call at 1-800-222-1020, the Customer Care office is open M-F 8am to 9pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 6pm.

You might also call the closest Chevy dealer and ask to speak to the service manager, they are used to dealing with warranty, recall, and customer goodwill issues.

sgad - If you were in contact with your Chevy dealer back then, remind them about this when you call.

Hopefully they will do you a Goodwill gesture !!

I would be more than happy to try and help you out with your situation. Could you please private message me your name, address, phone number, and vehicle identification number. This way I can do more research on your question.

Maybe, but seeing one of the same two basic responses in every response is beyond the point of getting old..........

When I PMd CCS they could give me no information other than what I could get online myself by signing into the Chevy owner site (which is another marketing tool, with basic info). The info that they can provide is basically printed on the glove box door and the OM.
