Read the rest of my questions that deal with this issue also.

Why can't non SS cars use them ?
Or is that the replacement motor that is installed to fix the problem ?

Why isn't a check engine light on for this ?
Only non turbo HHR's 2009-2010. Why not the SS ?
Why early years don't have this issue ?
As someone on this forum said "the dealer only took 10 minutes to fix the problem" that's a fuse change to me.
It isn't hard to just change the electric motor, if that's the backbone to the problem. But how to prove it ?
you mean these questions?
the EPS notice doesn’t trigger a code , so no CEL.
my 2007 had this issue, GM replaced the EPS motor and provided an extended warranty as long as I owned the car.
dealer only took 10 minutes, that fuse change is your speculation.
the GM dealership tested my EPS motor before changing it, the technician hooked up the Scan II to read the EPS notice, that’s why the dash notice has to be lit in order for them to proceed.

Only EPA (smog related) codes light the CEL. There are some codes related to the EPS.

So Pulled the fused and steering wheel was much harder.

So back to square one. Since the issue is a little different then before i will start a new trend to give myself the best chances.
