This just happened to me with the sunroof why and is this a recall item

Sorry but no recall on the sunroof issues yet or probably ever since they aren't safety related. The sunroof on the HHR is one of those "could have been better thought out/better designed" deals, and unfortunately they can be problematic.

There are fixes, some more elegant than others, give this thread a read from the beginning and check out the links to various sub-threads.
