Ok..1st off, Wheelie says Sorry about Dory's accident, he sends Dory flowers and a speedy recovery.=)

2nd, I WAS going to get Wheelie with a sun roof, but they didn't have any HHR's in stock that had them...with what I'm seeing here, I think it was better if Wheelie did not have it..

But Wheelie and I wish you all that have this problem a speedy recovery from the Chevy Doctor clinic!

So, I finally got my sunroof fixed a couple of weeks ago.

I had two problems with the repair. For one the headliner had little greasy, oily fingerprints on it. This has not been taken care of because the headliner is going to be dropped for a 4th time.

My second problem was that when I pulled the sunscreen shut it would catch on something right at the beginning.

Well, I told the service department about that last week and they looked at it again. It looks like part of the shade was catching on part of the drip tray or something like that. I'd grab my service report but it's down in the car. So they fixed that but noticed another problem.

During the previous repair I guess someone overtightened a screw. When they were trying to adjust things this screw broke. So, they had to order another new "sunroof module" in order to fix this problem. It's been almost two weeks since this has been ordered and it appears as though these parts, "sunroof module," is back ordered and it might take some time. This is also why I haven't had them clean my headliner yet because it's coming out yet again.

My sunroof works fine so I don't see the point in replacing it again but if they want to do that I guess it's all good. They are either being good to me by reporting this minor broken piece and replacing everything or they are just trying to get some extra warranty work from GM.

The saga continues

Now, that I have my third sunroof in the HHR I've noticed that something might be different.

When I pulled the shade back into the headliner I noticed that there was a flat, thin piece of metal that span the entire width of the sunroof. This piece seems to be a few inches deep and sits just above the sun shade and retracts back into the headliner with the sunroof when opened.

I don't recall that being there before or maybe I just never noticed it.

I also noticed that when I close my sunshade I can push up on it, where the handle is, and it will lift a good half inch or more. I don't remember this happening at all before.

Have they made some fairly major changes to the design of the sunroof or am I just completely crazy?

Don't seem to have this w/ my replacement.

My sunshade doesn't seem to have that much lift/give in it. Maybe 1?8 inch tops. But the it does seem to take a little more effort to slide.

For sure...
I left a vehicle once for some work. I have a second vehicle.
Then I saw it a few hours later with a bunch of mechanics in it going to lunch.
I was pissed. I took a picture with my cell phone, and showed them when I picked it up when they denied it! Lost my business...

Don't let them keep the HHR, not even for an hour. Get the SM to look at it immediately and order the part(s). Then expect to wait a week for it to arrive.

Well add me to the list experiencing that GM quality feel.

Went to open the sunroof yesterday and ..... POP!!

Same exact spot as the OP in this thread. Went by the dealer today and quickly showed them what was broke. Of course, not in stock, nor in the regional warehouse. About a week to get. Got to hand it to my dealer, though. Quick & easy and out in 5 min. They'll call when it's in.

If it were me I would have them remove that whole curtain spoiler.
