A/C growl
#31
It doesn't necessarily. The noise in mine came back, then they replaced the compressor (This was about 3 or 4 years ago) but the growl, whine, whatever, came back again last summer, especially when it got over 105 outside. This year it does it whenever the A/C is on. Dealer won't change it again as long as the A/C is still cooling, so I have to put up with the annoying noise unless I want to pay for it myself, or it craps out!

possible final installment..
ok...here we go....."growl" fixed yesterday.. local chevy did the compressor hose/evaporator tubing/bracket TSB fix............had them save the old parts so that i could compare. not much difference(seems like same hose/tubing od's) but...the BIG difference is that there is a section of flexable/RUBBER hose in the compressor line(running parallel to the firewall) that was not in the original piece. the retrofitted "mounting bracket" is to keep the compressor line in place considering the flexable hose section rather than a length of solid tubing. anyway...fixed, quiet and i'm a happy, COOL guy..........
