Front end noise
I can't believe people are still having problems getting the front end noise fix. Mine was fixed after the dealer spoke to GM that they had other HHR's on the lot having the same problem. They replaced the swaybar bracket and rubber bushings over 40k ago I don't have a single problem. I was told that they made a change in the manufacturing and replacements fix the problem. Sounds to me like the dealership is not even trying, i'm not a mechanic but its obvious what the noise is. The dealer knew also and GM confirmed it. So i'm going to bet that these dealerships are not doing their research.
As for not covering something under warranty because you changed something that is common practice. If its the exact part but a after market usually not a problem, but when you change size, shape or ever wheel size they can reject a warranty claim. Remember the tires and rims on your car are designed for the car. If you go up in size or down you can have problems with suspension components/brakes and they should not be covered under warranty.

The GM corporate idiot only does what he is told. It truly sounds like your dealership screwed you.
That being said... I live in Motor City. If I had a problem I'd drive right over to Corporate HQ.

Corporate has most dealships shaking in their boots over the warranty issue. Corporate has the final word, and it's one you don't want to hear. "Moon"

This is interesting, I really think it just depends on the dealer and their service manager. I had my engine blow a few months ago, and was real worried about it since I have a Trifecta tune. I know the tune didn't cause the failure, but it would've been real easy to blame the issue on it. The dealer never said anything about it, and replaced the engine under warranty. I don't even think they looked at the ECU as the tune is still active on the car.
Sorry to hear about your troubles...

well , I have not had any issues with my personal but of course she has only encured 8,000 miles , but thatnks to you guys and reading all the issues I only took Gap coverage ( really saved my @ss when my kid wrecked my saturn) and extended powertrain , also wisdom dictates that even though there is a thousand things I would love to do , Im sticking to appearence mods only for now ...but I am soory to hear what you guys are going thru ...but also greatful that your sharing so though its little consolation ...thanks for the heads up ! Gentleman & LADIES ....no I was never confused as to the gender issue personally
This is a dealer issue not a GM issue. Some dealers are becoming Barney Fife's on warranties.
I have been told some of it is due to the fact some dealers are up set that they are not getting paid for warranty work as fast as they would like by GM. They are getting paid but the payments are slow or should I say slower than they would like.
Larger and dealers that are in better finacial shape are not having problems.
The truth is there are many dealers that if they could close the service departments and send you else where they would. We had a local Ford dealer here that was giving discounts on their cars when you bought one to go else where for service. FOrd caught them and almost pulled the franchise.
