I have swapped out #17 with 3 other of the same type.
When the key is turned to the start position the rear wiper comes on and the #17 relay scratches and the light comes on on the heater directional know. This all lasts about 20-30 seconds.

 

Okay then, check the wires under the waterfall at the rear wiper switch and the knob that lights up, must be a crossed wire or bad ground wire

 

Your talking the center of dash below the radio?
The wiper/washer switch there dose not seem to do anything.
I will look there for wire issues.
Unrelated to this , can you tell me how to Unlock my radio? Battery went dead in the past and when i put a New battery in the radio says LOCKED.

 

Ordered all new bulbs from Rock Auto should have them by the 15 th they say.

If its not one thing its been another. I hook the negative battery cable up and turn the key the Low beam lights come on and so does the Rear wiper. Neither shut off with the key only when I disconnect the Negative battery cable.This is on a 2009 HHR LT. The High and Low beams work.The Front wiper works properly.Directional lights work normal.The Low beam lights do not shut off in Auto mode or by turning the control switch to Off.

 

I have merged all 5 of your threads. Some merging of threads had been done before. Looks like you've posted about some of these issues under at least 3 different user Id's.
