Etching of paint on rocker panel and rear door rock guard
Ouch, Captain, that hurt.
Not really. Glad you have a sense of humor.
Angel....sorry about my confusion on the color of the car. Guess I was remembering a post by you, that appeared to be blue/green. Anyway, because the car is white, it may provide a better opportunity negotiating with the Service Manager.

I don't know if this will be of any interest... but a month ago I picked up a used Daytona Blue 06 LT1 with 5300 miles on it from a local Chevy Dealer.
I negotiated the price of the car down to $12,800 and then worked on the running boards separately to the tune of $700 installed.
During the 3 or 4 days it took me to negotiate my deal I discovered this site and learned that some of the on-line Chevy parts sites were discontinuing the painted boards. I think (not sure) that my dealer had to paint my boards. When I went in to look at the car the first time it was already parked at the body shop to have the paint touched up... which ended up working to my advantage when I brought the sales manager out to look at the car telling him that before the year was up his next customer (if it wasn't me) was going to be back giving him the business once they found out what I already knew about the design defect.
I think if GM is painting the damaged area for free the first time... they ought to paint the boards for free too especially if everything is being done at the same time.
Just my 2 cents!

Well.....lets see if I can follow directions. See if this works!
I took these just after washing the car with my camera phone....sorry I did not have my digital with me. This is what it looks like with one year of driving.
Anyhow.....not bashing....just sharing my sadness.

Okay guys, mind you this is coming from a womans point of view, but wouldn't it help if Chevy just brought out the body of the car a little? Isn't this damage happening because the tires stick out just a shade farther than the body, so that rocks and stones get flung at the body of the car? Seems like it should be simple enough for Chevy to adjust the design just a tiny bit.
And this damage is happening in spite of having running boards? Hmmmm!
I know a lot of folks out there will say this might just be normal wear and tear on a car, but we've had a lot of vehicles, for periods of ten years and way longer, and we've never had the kind of damage we're seeing here..........and yes, we've taken them down some really crazy roads where stones were flying everywhere.
