Grrrrr. Going to kick hubby's arse!
Go to an auto body supply shop in your area, there are compounds that you can use to fill in the spot, sand the area, and get an interior paint(more like a stain almost, very thin) to repaint the panel. I have fixed many issues like this and its not hard to do, the only hard part is getting a good match for the interior color, take the car with you when you go. Good luck.
Good God, if I were married to someone named "Broadzilla"...
just go the cheap route and buy a small tarp, a blanket and toss it over whatever it is you are carrying in the hatch area. Also, one could also attach velcro strips to the interior hatch panel and velcro some cardboard which could be easily removed and not leave any ugly marks. Go to a dollar store and get creative!

Mine has scratches there as well, but this is a gouge. I just want to keep this car looking nice and in good shape, since I have to pay for it for the next 6 years.
Thanks in advance. ~Kelly~
