New Key not Working after being Programmed
So the other day I had posted a thread about my 2010 HHR, I lost the key and got a new one. I programmed the key with the dealership instructions, now my car is starting then dies within 2 seconds.... like it's a faulty start. I had a locksmith and my dealership come to test the key, both ran scans and everything looks fine! But neither have been able to tell me what is wrong with the car! My dealership is full of ass***es who want me to take my car in to an actual Chevy dealership and pay through the roof because "they don't know what's wrong" ugh. I'm so stressed it's a struggle trying to get to work. I cant afford to take the car in until after rent is paid. Can somebody please help me!!! I need my car to start !
Since you left so much of the story out of the first time I have to ask:
1. Did it work before you lost the key
2. did anything else happen
3. was the ignition recall performed.
4. have you asked a GM dealership how much it would cost
5. what does "ran scans" mean
6. is the check engine light on
7. is the security light on
There is a TSB 07-08-45-003a that you might direct your shop to.
