Jim, we’re discussing an SS FE5 suspension here.

The wrong LCAs are a dangerous situation, so fix that first. The steering problem is the way the alignment was done, that threw the steering wheel position sensor off. Fix that second.

C. ALL of those Bxxxx codes pertain to the airbag system, why didn't you mention the airbag light? Specifically one or more elements are disconnected/unpowered.

I suspect someone broke or disconnected a wire while working on the car.

jimvw, as repeatedly stated the SS control arms are NOT the same as LS/LT arms, no matter what a parts book thinks. Almost all books (including GM dealers) claim "fits all".
I forgot that I unplugged the motor assembly to see if it changed anything. I plugged them back in. Ill rescind them. I wasnusing a scan tool that im unfamiliar with.

I UNDERSTAND THE ARMS ARE WRONG. Ill buy new ones if we can figure out this problem. Even though they seem to fit just fine and tighten up correctly. I just don't want to drop thousands into this car to make it "correct" if it doesn't fix the main issue.

so you are saying that the lower ball joints being the wrong diameter will make my steering angle sensor not work? I understand that I need different arms. Im not driving the car. But if the steering doesn't work I dont want to spend $300 on new LCAs and take the car to the scrap yard.

I’m not telling you the incorrect ball joints are the cause of your steering angle sensor issues, I’m telling you the wrong ball joints are unsafe.

The steering angle sensor issues are caused by the incorrect procedure to align the front end.

Just get the ZZP ball joints that Oldblue linked to above at $40 each, no reason to replace the control arms.

OTTP has them also, same price https://www.overthetopperformance.co...LNF_p_295.html

Hopefully your steering knuckles aren't damaged.

I guess I dont understand the procedure. steering wheel is centered and wheels were centered to it. Alignment is true and vehicle tracks straight.
calibration had me. Enter wheel, turn 180 left, then 360 right, then center. Then it failed.

Yes you can drill the rivets out of the Moog arms and bolt in the ZZP or OTTP 20.5 mm ball joints.

so, that’s when it failed , try this reset procedure
