my release button will not work without jiggling or pushing shifter foward to get it out of park . i did have a bottle of soda fizz out but most of it got on me, the shifter didn`t seem to get anything. will try a shot of wd-40.

Great minds again Lucky, that's the tread I was going to link for tnt. It might not be soda stickiness, I've noticed that the lube applied by GM to the BTSI(Brake Transmission Shift Interlock)mechanism tends to "gum up" over time.

(Don, did your phone get cracked before, during, or after the brake job yesterday?)

You'll have to pardon Don tnt, he found out that the post '09 rear brakes are a PITA to reassemble.
