I did not check it :/

it leaked at the banjo bolt because I forgot to tighten it. Then it leaked out of the hose fitting that goes near the coolant fill cap and the turbo but I put that hose back on and it didn't leak after that. I let it sit over night and it still had coolant in the fill cap. After starting it up it went down a bit and I added some.

Is there any oil dripping under the car? 5 quarts would make a mess , then again it has to go somewhere?
Coolant? No cause the dip stick is dry.
it stayed up on the head , doubt it

Nothing leaking or dripping. Just a few drops I can see. Nothing crazy.

I could be 100% wrong about the engine sound. But that's what it sounded like to me and I didn't want to destroy the engine.

I might have someone local look at it for a second opinion.

Would opening the valve cover again tell me anything?

The dipstick only shows about the top 2 quarts, so it may not be as catastrophic as it seems.

Remove the valve cover, see if there's a bunch of oil that can't drain down?

Ok I will open it up again. Although it seems odd that I was able to pour 5 quarts into it lol. Unless it all went into the timing cover and just is not recircluating back up top??

There's a good sized opening at the bottom of the timing area for oil to flow back into the oil pan.

Did it lose oil before this work?

Did you take the cloth out of the area below the crankshaft to avoid dropping bolts into the oil pan?
Still oil would get down.

I drained the oil before opening it up. It went about 4/5 of the way up in the container. I'm sure they give different states different containers so here is a pic of it.

Yes of course I removed that before assembling it back.

I took a video

Notice how the rpm's/volume of the engine noise goes down near the end.

My dad just said it being on jack stands and tilted up like this might be affecting it too. Any thoughts on that?

The dipstick measures the oil level in the part of the oil pan near the front of the vehicle. Oil level should be checked on level ground, dad's right.
