Injector Replacement
So, I picked up Red on Friday afternoon and immediately left on a 300 mile trip for the weekend. Not only does the SS run like a scalded dog again, but I am actually averaging about 31.5 mpg running 75mph on the interstate. I have NEVER seen those numbers before. I'm stoked!
Under warranty (and while still fully tuned) they did:
1) Cylinder head rebuild. All the usual parts such as gaskets, seals, and valves (the misfire was caused by the valves not seating correctly).
2) 4 new injectors
3) New tensioner and timing chain
4) Full detail that I promptly hit a dirt road and decimated.
3.5 weeks and $4,200 bill if not for the 100K warranty. Worth every bit!
**Side note**
If anyone needs work on their SS, I highly recommend these guys at Coggin Chevrolet in Jax, FL. I believe I may have to drop a letter in the mail to their service department to thank them. They were excellent!
