I am curious if the part interchange was confirmed. Glen, do you have any update? Did you get your power steering fixed and if so how?

Some folks have suggested the 25883854 module will work, but nobody has confirmed it, you will need to vin match it to your HHR SS

As asked of the op , why do you think you need a new one?

OldBlue, I am not sure that I need it. The shop that is working on the car says the power steering motor is fine but the module is bad. How they came to that conclusion I do not know. They have spent a bunch of time researching and trying to locate a replacement which they say is not made any more. I was told the power steering "just quit" and the car was sent to this new shop. After checking all of the fuses and wiring, the shop figured out that the HHR SS does not use the same PS unit as the non turbo model and somehow determined that the PS motor works (not sure how they tested it) and when they could not find parts (new or used) they threw in the towel. I don't give up so easily (plus the car is useless if the ps does not work) so I jumped on the forums to see if it is a common problem. It seems less common on the SS models. It is a fleet vehicle and my shop forman sent it to a shop I am not familiar with so I do not know if they are qualified or not. I was willing to buy a replacement if they were reasonably priced in case it would get the car back on the road but since I cannot locate one at any price I cannot make that decision. I am sure that others on the site have experienced the same problem on an SS model so I was hoping to find out where others ended up.

The parts cross references are there but not verified, so if you do get a used one from the equinox or a Saturn Vue . let us know

the Chev Captiva and Cadillac were derivatives of the Vue, maybe they will work.

the part number does indicate it’s for the HHR SS model only.
