SS tire for traction
SS tire for traction
Ok, I know this question has been asked but I'm going to ask again- I am running a Trifecta tune/intercooler/downpipe, 2nd gear spins the wheels from 40mph to 65mph on the stock tires. I am going to upgrade the tires for better traction. Who has changed their tires and finally got traction? I don't want written recommendations from tire selling establishments- I just want to know who is running a tire they like, Thanks!
I have found the Dunlop Direzza to be the best for traction without giving up other features such as tire mileage or wet traction or quietness of tread. Great dry traction with little wheel spin under full acceleration.
Since you live in a snow belt part of the country, the 1st choice tire I can't recommend. Here's the 2nd choice, and a real good one. Kumho Ecsta Ast Ku25.
I have a good friend that runs SCCA events and wins quite a bit. He recommends Kumho tires[either of the two listed here].
Since I live in N Cal, no snow, I will be running either the above tire, or the Kumho Ecsta XS Ku36[connot be used in snow], when I get new tires before long.
I feel your pain. I have Trifecta tune in my SS, and even with TC on, spins tires all the way through 2nd gear. Gonna put real sticky rubber on before long. "Moon"
