I'm not sure you got my point: if you are going to get a tune anyway, you don't need no GM badge.

I think the tunes CJ and others sell includes a DIY installer, so anyone with a laptop PC can do that part and anyone with a set of wrenches should be able to bolt the kit on.

Sorry, no, I didn't get your point, but I think I understand now. So you're saying that I could install the new sensors and hardware that came with the GM kit and buy the "tune" program from somebody else (like CJ) and flash it myself? If that's the case then I can do it all myself. My warranty is almost up anyway. Or is there a dealer that has techs that didn't drop out of my high school around SoCal??
