Don, it is the LONG oil pan bolt - the picture shows the BOTTOM of part of the engine, and part of the transmission.
The oil pan is to the RIGHT in the supplied picture.
You can see the starter in the lower right, and the ring gear is visible through the inspection hole.
The oil pan is directly below the starter.

Here is a flipped version of the original picture that shows a different perspective that may make more sense to some:

I don’t see where that long stud can go there, the flywheel is right there and therefore the clutch cover plate would be in the way.
