Boy, the attention to detail on this project is amazing.

 

As you all know, things are more complicated than the SEMA cars because I want the creature comforts of a real driver, not a concept car. To this end the heater/defroster/a/c system has been extensive. At this point there are no original parts to the system. It's all Vintage Air and Dakota Digital now. Even the a/c condenser in front of the radiator had to be replaced. And of course a custom machined bracket to fit it to the Camaro radiator must be made. It never ends. This first pic shows some of the hoses and the drier for the system.

The Corvette C5 brakes are complete.

 

Things never end up like we saw it in our mind when we thought, yeah that'll fit!

The final tube in the roll bar system is being fabricated and then it gets painted. Got a delivery from FedEx today, the brand new Air Lift 3H system. I saw it at SEMA and just had to have it. This will probably get installed in a week or two. Then it will pretty much be fabricate a gas pedal and linkage to the throttle body and then get serious again on the electrical. I have alot of help on this but I'm still waaaay out of my league with making this beast run. Also the exhaust system needs to be addressed. I will probably have to run some of the sections with Spintech Oval tubing to get enough ground clearance to lower the car sufficiently.

The exhaust system will be made of 16 ga. aluminized mild steel. 2 1/2" dia. mandrel bends a straight pieces cut and tig welded together. Once it's welded it will be belt sanded and jet coated ceramic silver. I previously explained, the exhaust needs to come out the sides and not the rear so I had to locate a pair of pretty strange mufflers to fit in front of the rear axle. In front of the mufflers will be a pair of QuickTime low profile electric cut outs. The system will be removable with stainless "V" clamps aft of the cats. Should sound pretty nasty with the cam I'm running.

 

those mufflers look similar to the 70 'Cuda mufflers with the side exits in front of the rear wheel inlet and exit both at the front

 

That's what I was thinking when I read the post given I owned a '70 Cuda AAR in a previous life. :-) Wish I still had it... :-(

 

I've been following this and I have to ask. How many people involved in this? And how big is your shop?
