Well I personally think the moderators are awesome helpful and friendly, yes even you Don!!
I have received a push back or two to use the search tool , but I found many a thread to assist in my quest for knowledge of the HHR kind!
I have noted along the ways that many people will ask a question and we will respond but they don't come back with a response or to update if our advice assisted them.
and oh by the way, my HHR will be in ignition switch surgery this Friday fingers crossed I don't but that nice 4 door GMC pick-up in the show room, cause it's black and not OldBlue!!

Received a call from Rock Chevy in Grayslake, IL yesterday. Parts are in. Asked when switch & cylinder could be installed. "Can you be here in an hour?" I told them I could not be there until the next morning. "We open at 7:15. Just show up & we will take care of you."

I was there at 9 this morning. Also had CPO oil change & tire rotation done. Car was ready at 11.

Have two new keys. All works perfectly!

Finally got our HHR back this week from the dealer. Took them 1 month for parts and the work. Dealer's service manager was snotty when I asked for a complimentary oil change and a simple wash job. It was filthy after having been stored on the back lot for that month. Needless to say, my experience with Joe Self Chevrolet in Wichita, KS wasn't an altogether pleasant one.

But you got a nice clean car to drive and get dirty while yours was sitting on the back lot, not accruing miles.

You didn't mention that you had the free loaner detailed before you turned it in. They will have to. You should see what gets turned in by some people.

Strange how some people get snotty when you ask for just 2 more freebies.

Just hoping you can understand their point of view. Gift horses and all that.

When you look a gift horse in the mouth all you see are teeth and tongue and maybe some hay!! Why would you expect a free oil change, it's a recall. I'm surprised the HHR was stored at the dealer, they used to charge for that, but they didn't. Enjoy the comfort that your HHR is safe now and the issue has been addressed.

What? No free oil change? A car wash would have been nice - but would I have made sure it was washed after the Customer asked for a free oil change? I don't think so.

I am still awaiting the call from my dealership to get the recall done. I called them a few weeks back and they told me that it could take up to 8 weeks.

I had to call the dealer and then they had to call the factory to get the parts made. I have been waiting since mid April and still no word
