Am I Missing Something ???

I purchased a 2008 HHR SS a couple of months ago and my clutch is starting to slip, I was looking at everything to assess the difficulty to change clutch, when I notice on the top side of the bell housing, there is a big square hole that you can practically see the whole pressure plate. Is this supposed to be this way or am I missing some sort of cover or plug? Here is a photo of hole, can somebody please tell me what is supposed to be there?

Hmmm , not sure as I don't have an SS or a five speed, but I'm sure some of the SS owners will jump in!!

Welcome to the site.

Well, you made me go out and pull mine off to take some pictures.
But, the gearhead in me likes to do those things.
Anyhow. There should be a little plastic cover there. Probably called an inspection cover.
Here it is. And YES. Our little SS's have a Saab transmission if you've got the standard shift 5 speed.

Thanks firemangeorge for going through all of the trouble to remove and take pictures. Does it just snap on and off? This was a lot of help, especially with the part number As far as the vendors suggested by Oldblue, I purchased the KY stage 2 from turbotech and I also purchased a dash kit from Carid Also thanks to firemangeorge's photos, I found the part I needed on Ebay for $6.99 with free shipping. That was a BIG help!!! You guy's are great

Actually whopper, it just snaps into place on top of the bellhousing.
A 20 second task.
Now it did take another 5 mins to clean up the cover to take those pics. It was pretty dirty with clutch disc dust.
