Lets just say this: I just read the owners manual, and if you get a flat on the front tire, you have to put the spare on a back tire position, then put a back tire to the front, cause the spare won't fit the front on the SS due to the larger brakes, and thats with the STOCK SS front brakes.

big benefit is if you auto x or use the ss in competition driving.

Damn, I was going to autocross it. Have an 87 MR2 SC that we normally use but I thought it may be fun to try it a few times. Gonna check tommorow, its usually 6 weeks if you order from the factory.

I work at a dealership so I'll doublecheck the orders for them, as of last week though they only list the LSD as an option and no mention of the brembo's. Seems odd they haven't started adding the option though, its close to the cutoff date to order them from the factory.

All in all for occasional auto Xing I may have to hold out for the brembos,

Well, was at work today and had my manager (I work at a chev store) run the order form from GM. No mention on the official site of anything to do w/the brembo's. Seems like the option was scrubbed or will not come out till the Cobalts pick up production.

Build out for 08 HHR SS is at the end of the month so if you want one from the factory you better order soon.

What about the rears?
This is the first Ive heard that its only a front wheel brake package.
60% to 80% of all braking happens on the front brakes, The rears brakes do some but very little.

"In contrast to the equally-priced HHR SS, the Cobalt SS wears summer-only Continental tires and also carries a beefier brake package from Brembo"

Seems logical that the HHR SS Brembo option should be available once the Cobalt SS launches... since the parts are supposedly the same.

So, maybe April timeframe? Keep crossing those fingers!

Ah well, order is out, car on its way. Didn't have to order from the factory they had one in transit locally. So I will be taking delivery of an HHR SS in a week or so. Loaded too, if I couldnt have the brembos I was definetly going to get the LSD.

Black btw.
