Are you sure that if you lock the doors with the FOB or the door lock switch, leaving a window down, then pull the lock up and open the door the alarm will not go off?

Mine does...

Well I wouldn't say it's poor it's just not as nice as what you can get aftermarket. We are actually putting a radar in it that if someone gets within a foot of the car or so it will give a warning and if the window is left down for some reason and they stick their arm inside the car it'll go off completely. The factory alarm is at least something though.

It might but if someone decides to not open the door which wouldn't be hard to do then the alarm wouldn't go off.

Alarms only matter if someone is going to respond to the thing going off. Doesn't much happen these days. Owning a bunch of convertibles I've learned the best thing is to not leave anything of value in the car. And the cops will tell you that in most cases the cars that get hit are the ones not locked.

Ah which is why the alarm we bought is a 2 way paging system :) Tells you if you left it unlocked, or if the alarm is going off all on a neat little keychain pager. Works up to a mile away too.

Well apparently that part didn't fix it so now they are saying some fuse box under the hood they will replace it tomorrow. Seems as though he's just going through replacing all the electronics lol.

Yes I do CCW but generally someone breaking into a car is not armed.

Looks like the HHR is fixed. ECU and Fuse box replacement or something like that.
