Why on Earth would anyone go through the trouble to access and replace the seals on a 100,000+ mile car and not replace everything in the path??? On any vehicle I own if I have to do much as break a ball joint loose I replace everything on both sides. The difference in labor is minimal and usually the expensive part. Between 100-150,000 miles the first frontend issue involving bearings, CV's, Seals etc I pull it down and replace everything including Tie rod ends so I won't have to look at it again for years.
I suppose some people enjoy having things to fix every few weeks.

Those are good points, with one caveat; these days, there are a lot of poor quality aftermarket parts out there, and sometimes the original left in place will outlast a crappy replacement. The example that immediately comes to mine is that it has been reported here that the crank seal that comes with the Fel-Pro engine cover gasket often leaks. So for me, case-by-case after due consideration.
