power steering issue starting
#51
I just had the power steering motor replaced yesterday. It just quit working twice in the last week or so. I just pushed on the breaker and it worked again, but I was afraid it might quit somewhere on my wife and she wouldn't know what to do! First time it happened to her, but she was right in front of the house and couldn't even turn into the driveway! So I took it to the dealer and they said the motor was going bad? Cost $301.00 to replace. Our HHR only has 34,000 miles on it, but it is going on 9 Years old now. So, who knows??

Have fun! I'll bet you are the first one to try . It is now 2014, do some math.
The part costs $110 and takes a "chick" with no experience (SEARCH box) 30 minutes to replace. I don't know where $1700 come from, but most of the outrageous quotes I've seen were less than $500.
Can you prove that the identical part was used in the different assembly plants?

Do you work for GM? They tried to get around the ignition switch fiasco by saying they weren't the same switch and getting caught in the lie. The fact is that it is a well known and well documented problem as demonstrated by every dealer having a good supply of the replacement motor.
