Some folks are naturally gentle on the brakes, and habitual use of the parking brake seems to help the rear brakes stay adjusted.
I've gone from adjusting my rear brakes every 5,000 miles, to checking them when the handbrake takes more than three clicks to hold the vehicle firmly.
