Ok so I'm take the whole bracket off the engine that go in horizontally or just the 3 vertical bolts?

will I be able to take that whole side cover off to do the timing chain stuff easily enough?

any suggestions on timing chain kits? Going to do water pump and timing chain. Any other stuff I should get?

is there a kit for water pump gaskets? I assume I re use the outer cover

Balance shaft kit 9-4202SX also no sprockets .
and yes there’s a kit for the water pump

This guy dropped the engine cradle, engine and transmission, not required

You will have room to work and remove the front cover.

Front guide replacement bolt. A must have!

Valve cover gasket set at your cars age give it a new one!

Same with the front cover, I replaced a 3 month old FelPro gasket with this one.

Front seal another must have, I also replaced a FelPro seal that leaked after a few months.

Lol been sleeping in my car last few days just to get decent sleep for work (4am wakeup) so you're welcome to sleep in my room if you dont mind dogs barking, playing inside, and 4 other people yelling and slamming doors all the time 😏

Do you think I need the head gasket? It's kinda pricey. Should I wait and see how it looks?

I think i can manage the jobs by myself lol im pretty mechanically inclined.

That kit includes new head bolts and gaskets for tge intake and exhaust manifold, so it’s a good deal , then buying them all separately. You will need a head gasket if you remove the head.
Now if you pull the head to determine extent of damage and can wait to order parts, that’s good too! Why throw parts at it if it’s not worth the repair?
