Well I'm either going to just sell it, or put a little time into it. Or it can be a LONG project if it really needs a new engine. Like i said, it runs and drives great so I don't think it's completely trashed.
Like I said, change the head gasket, and the water pump and the chains. When you drain the radiator, look for oil in the coolant. If it’s contaminated, change the oil cooler and radiator, and hoses, once you clean it up!
If you remove the upper engine mount and the bracket for it that gives you more room to get to the front cover bolts. I’d even consider a new oil pan.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will order all the stuff needed.
I saw a lot of gunk around the bottom of the radiator lines...not sure if that indicates a leak...or oil in the coolant.
but I will be sure to post back here when i can get to it. It's raining sat and sun here...so another week of 0 progress unless i get back from work early this week.
Looks like transmission cooler lines are leaking at the radiator. I’ve cleaned up way worse, it’s a gamble, put time and some parts into it. If it ran good, it’s probably just a head gasket. Can you please post a photo of the filler neck with the rad cap off? Straight down into the opening, please
