Loss of boost, exhaust smoke, oil loss - yes

I haven't been able to find an exploded diagram that shows the coolant passages in the K04, so coolant loss- unknown, maybe.

Here is a "general" turbocharger diagram showing the coolant and oil passages.

The coolant runs through a cavity in the turbo housing around the center area where the bearings are, more toward the exhaust side where there is greater heat.

I don't think a loose bearing or seal anywhere would allow coolant to leak inside the turbo.

Thanks for the info Steve.

Got 3/4 of the exhaust studs out. Going to dealership for the one that was stripped.

Does anyone happen to have a part # for the oil and coolant banjo bolts that go into the turbo?

I would like to replace them while I swap the turbo if the dealership has them

Wasn't able to find anything on rockauto or Google.

The gaskets are in your thread that I linked to. You're replacing the bolts too? If you're going to the dealer they have the part numbers.

If you're going to the dealer parts department, just give them your VIN and they can tell you with great certainty what the correct P/N is.
