Thank you for the link! I always try to make my first attempt with RA, and usually, with other items, the shipping has been reasonable. Will go here and check it out

Nobody wants to listen to me when I say RA is a website with a really good catalog, the vendors can be drop shippers that set their own shipping. Some of them are car dealerships.

Is a WEBSITE that sells parts, owned by a company. They own no inventory. They advertise vendors offerings for sale. They don't claim to be cheapest or fastest.
The business model is a good one, they are good to deal with, there is nothing wrong with RA. Just understand what you are dealing with before you complain about things they don't control.
You don't complain about Ebay expensive shipping because you know they don't ship anything. You don't complain about Ebay because 2 vendors are selling identical items for different prices and shipping.

I am defending RA, not denigrating them.

I didn’t say I disagree, but I’m saying they are a family owned company, shipping is a cost of the shipping company, not RA or 1AAuto or Fleabay.
FedEX shipping charges are thru the roof! Same with DHL and UPS

Okay, I’m hearing you..they have zero contact with the actual shipping then. They are not providing any of the shipping costs either. The seller is then linked to the item they offer (like as in a Drop-ship in the good ol days), rather set up like EBay, so each seller gets to choose their price and shipping cost, since it’s coming directly from the seller, not RA.
Makes total sense. Basically, it’s the seller through RA that’s making these shipping prices astronomical. I now know it won’t matter to contact them, but I do wonder if it’s possible to contact the seller who’s selling through RA. I’ve done my own shipping calculation, and with a box that weighs 5 lbs, it can be shipped through USPS to my Hawaii PO Box from Miami Florida for $22.80. But that’s neither here nor there. The seller can charge whatever arbitrary cost they want
