I don’t remove the heater hoses or the radiator hose to the thermostat housing, just remove the bolts and move it until the transfer pipe comes out

Ok I think I have found the part I need to loosen

Am I unfolding that green painted bolt to get to the other bolts?

Definitely can't get to the bolts with everything in the way.

Any suggestions on what to remove to make this possible?

Removing the turbo seems like it would help the most having it out of the way.

I remove whatever is needed to expose it well. That turbo would be off if I were doing this job.

any suggestions on where to get started taking the turbo off? It's very hard to get to or see anything. I can only see the 4 bolts to the right if the turbo from the top of the engine bay.

It's an automatic and I've read they are a bit harder to work on

I took the turbo off on my 5-speed car. What a PITA. Even broke off a stud into the exhaust manifold, so had to take that off, too, and take it to a welding shop to remove the broken stud.

Can't be that hard to get the thermostat housing off.

Well I could probably get to the inside bolt with some sort of swivel. But it might be nearly impossible to get it back in. There isn't much room between the thing to the right of the turbo and the bolt.

That bolt behind the coolant temperature sensor, to get at it you must remove the sensor, use a 19mm deep socket, like for your lug nuts.

Just looking at mine, it looks like the heater hoses are what's most in the way.
