GM Ignition Recall Extended to All HHR's 2006-2011 UPDATED!!!
will the letter still come in the mail even if you're the second owner? I have notified GM that I bought the car and updated my profile with them and they said at the time that they didnt have me on record owning this car (thought the dealer would send the info to them or something) so like i said I updated my info with them and the lady on the phone said I will be getting a letter in the mail in about a week...its been a month now and still no letter from GM
That'll be the case for a while, even running three shifts at the plant in Detroit, Delphi is not capable of meeting the demand yet.
It's important to contact your dealer so that they can order the parts for your HHR, at least at my local Chevy Store, they are ordering parts for every vehicle as instructed by GM.
In so many words, GM told them that "the parts must be ordered for a specific customer and VIN", no extra parts will be shipped for inventory...at least not yet.

hi guys
I have not been there, but still in the ranks
and my Hippo still with me
Here in Russia, "GM Ignition Recall" also works. But GM does not send us letters. This practice - exotic for us. We found out by accident about return of the cars, held talks with GM-office in Moscow.
As a result, some Russian dealers will work with our cars.
In Belarus all is not well. In Belarus our people have strong resistance from local GM dealers. As it turns out, in the territory of that state there is no full representation of the GM and the dealers are "gray" as they say in our area.
It so happened that I something like a coordinator for the program of return vehicles GM for forum http://www.bigmotors.by/forum/viewforum.php?f=8, uniting Russian HHR-space
out in front of us waiting a long siege Belarusian GM dealers, expected that there will be litigation.
In Ukraine, even worse/ There is now a war and banditry, GM dealers not work at all. We have a 2 guys - in Kiev and Odessa. Now they rarely in touch, I wish them only good in these difficult times.

Skyline26 - http://www.gmignitionupdate.com/canada/en/index.html - they use the Provincial Vehicle registration info for mailings.
"The current owner information from your provincial vehicle registration will be used to mail out customer communication for the recall."
For other than Canada specific: http://www.gmignitionupdate.com/index.html
